Hold On Tight

Last Tuesday, (April 24th) I arrived at my barn to ride. I was supposed to ride Quiz, though he was still eating so I got to choose between Versa or Moon. Tall, dark bay mare, or tiny, white pony gelding? "Moon," I say.
I get him out of his stall, and quickly curry over his withers. Grooming, done. Tacking up time! The small pony was quick. He began trotting. Good. Except when we were trotting, he sort of attempted to run out the door. Bad pony. But I love him.

"Moon, trot." I squeezed my boots against his side signaling him to trot. My leg slipped back right then and there. I was expecting a nice trot, but instead I got a fast, jumpy canter. Moon would not halt! I tried and tried and after about three times around he finally stopped. It was my first time cantering off of the lunge line and I didn't expect it at all! Though I held on, and luckily was fine. My body was shaking. I was scared, but smiling. I was freaked out, but excited.
Maybe if I ride Moon tomorrow he won't act up as much?! I hope not. (Cantering off the line is fun though, so, we'll just have to wait and see) :)

My Last Lesson

On Saturday April 1st, I had my last riding lesson at Trundlebed. It was kind of sad but fun. We started with trotting over polls. I made my own course over them. Then towards the end we cantered on the lunge line. Boomer was real lazy at the beginning of cantering, though soon he got comfortable and cantered reasonably.

I felt sort of weird, riding Boom. Knowing that he would be sold in a week, it was emotional.
I really miss him!
And Trundlebed!
:(

New Barn!

My barn Trundlebed is closed. I have to find a new barn! Next Saturday I have a lesson at Yorkfield. A small barn in the area. I cannot wait! But it's going to be kind of odd. I haven't ridden anywhere since Trundlebed. I haven't decided if I am going to stay there, but probably. A lot of my friends have started riding there, and now I am! Yayy!

Another barn I might try: Flying Colour. Its where I first began riding at the age of five. I was
so scared of riding that I cried at the two-three lessons I had. Now six years later I may be going back there!

WISH ME GOOD LUCK :)
